In 1900, Sisters Mary and Caroline Sharp arrived in Kuching to join their brother, Reverend A.F. Sharp who was already ensconced at the house. In 1902, Sister Mary was put in charge of the boarding school.

There are 13 Mary Sharp Rooms with a choice of either a queen size or twin beds.
